hello there! I just joined here. Please check out my profile and add me as a friend here please if you like! I am in Denver now but will be in Florida till Spring. I am looking for local films to get involved with. I also own a full studio just north of Tampa Florida if you ever shoot out there let me know! I will put up photos soon.
Gary,
I am auditioning for a short indie film called "Skeletons" -- would love to have you audition if you're interested.
Here's the skinny:
“Skeletons” is a story about family, devotion, art, crime,
guilt, bad habits, and the way we cling to our kin like anchors in the ocean of life’s craziness. The film opens at a memorial service for the character of Alex, and is interspersed with flashbacks and snippets of home videos taken over the years.
AUDITIONS: Wednesday October 14th, 7pm – 9pm at the John Hand Theater, Room 206.
SHOOT DATES: Sunday October 25th, noon to 4pm, and Tuesday October 27th 4pm – 10pm.
Gary Otte will act as DP on the project, which will be shot on Hi-Def DV.
*There will also be a casual, partly-improvised shoot for a “home video” of a Cain family Christmas party to be scheduled in November. The date of this shoot is more flexible since we’ll be filming on a mini-DV camcorder, and can be scheduled around cast members’ conflicts.
Location: The home of Sara and Jeremiah Michael, 5785 S. Lakeview St. in Littleton, 80120
Rehearsal Dates: I am willing to work around actors’ schedules, but the days I have set aside for rehearsals are Sun Oct 18th thru Thurs Oct 22nd, so all actors must have some availability within that time frame.
Info/Conflict sheets will be supplied at auditions.
CHARACTERS:
Holly: 30’s, an artist, single, independent, outspoken and fiercely protective of her siblings.
Tom: brother to Holly and Jill, late 20s, a writer for a hip men’s magazine, a quick-witted cad with a big heart.
Jill: sister to Holly and Tom, 30s, strong in her faith in God, a bit emotionally repressed but extremely kind, intelligent and giving - would give you the shirt off her back, with a small sermon tucked into the pocket.
Alex: Her husband, 40s, a chronic out-of-work alcoholic who has allowed hopelessness to take over, often taking it out on Jill. Killed in a drunk-driving accident, he is presented in the “home videos” section of the film only.
Jean: Their mother, 50s-late 60s, also strong in her faith, kind and loving, a rock to her family
Sam: Their father, 60s – 70s, handsome, with a small-time criminal past and an infectious charm that hides a sociopathic nature
Wanda: Their cousin, 20s, funky, has no reservations about saying the word “dildo” at a memorial service.
Mark: Her boyfriend, 20s-30s
Katy: Alex’s sister, 30s, a small-town woman, remorseful about not being there enough for her brother, feels guilt over his death.
Donna: Alex’s mother, 60s – 70s, a tired woman, stunned and confused over her son’s death.
Friends and Family: Guests at Alex’s memorial service, as well as Christmas party guests in the “home video” portion of the film.
Gary,
I have a couple folks auditioning Saturday late morning, around 10 or 11. Would that work for you? I'm pretty open on Saturday morning & afternoon. Can you email me your reply? I can't access the CASA site at work -- I'm a teacher and we've got mega-restrictions on our computers....kris_hipps@yahoo.com.
Thanks,
Kris
Hello, I'm a student filmmaker looking for talented middle-aged men and women for a short comedy. It'll be an easy quick shoot full of laughs with an experienced crew. Good for demo reels and resume's. We're shooting Nov 13th, 14th, and 15th so I need to find some good cast members as soon as possible. Please message me if you're interested or have more questions. Thank you! :-)
thank you so much, i'll take your info and see what I can work up. :-) Gimme a day or two, i just got bombarded by responses, lol, and I wasn't expecting that. I've had such bad luck in the past I'm surprised to see everyone so sociable. I'll hit you back up when I have everything arranged.
thank you so much for your response! I'll go over your stuff and work something up. Gimme a day or two to come up with some sort of get-up for all the responses i've gotten.
Thanks everyone for replying, in fact I’m overwhelmed with the responses, lol. So I will be holding another casting call this weekend at my house. If you could do me the favor and email me or message me what days and times for this weekend are best for you I’ll organize a schedule for everyone and we can get to meet one on one. If this weekend wont work for you let me know and I’ll figure out another good time to meet with you, but this weekend will help everything move smoothly for everyone. I’d like to see comedic monologues and I depending on what I see I’ll possibly throw together some improv situations. I look forward to seeing everyone, and I’m super excited to work with you all!
Alright Gary,
I've made a schedule for this weekend, and I have you down for Saturday the 24th, at 11:44am. If you have any conflicts with that, let me know asap, i have a few openings still for Fri evening and Sunday mornings. I'd just like a comedic monologue if you have one. We'll be meeting at my friend's house at:
1216 S. Fultondale Cir.
Aurora, CO 80018
I look forward to seeing you there!
Hi Gary, sorry it took so long to respond. I've been crazy busy thanks to the weather. I've been casting but I was checking to see if you were still interested. After meeting with Rand, I was curious of the idea of you two working as a team. I needed to create a siamese twin dad and with you two having worked together i thought of you two being a pair. If you're still interested let me know, and I'll also have to see if Rand is still a go. Thanks again, Nate.
13th, 14th, and 15th...i'll email you a script in just a few minutes. You can decide if you want Dad Left, or Dad Right. lol. Anyways i haven't heard back from Rand yet, and obviously i need both of you on board. you guys are relatively close to the same age so if i have to get someone else it'll be difficult doing a twin with someone older or younger than yourself.
We should be fine. I have two more people to cast today, and so once I pick which person i want between the two I'll email everyone in mass emails asking for EXACT schedules for that weekend, and then my producer and I can work up an official schedule with people's exact shoot times. The siamese twin dads is a small part so we'll only need you for a few hours of one day I imagine, but we'll figure it out. Again, still haven't heard from Rand and so far that's my only concern.
