The roles are gender neutral, so Alice could have either a little brother or sister. Either way the important thing is that it is someone that you would enjoy playing the role with.

Hey Eloise, How far have you gotten with the read of Adventures in Wonderland? Sorry, I've been busy with other projects. Just posted the Motet show from the Fox: three hour music video. Off to the Yucatan to retrace the steps of Sylvanus Morley, the real life character that inspired the "Indiana Jones" role by Harrison Ford. Hoping not to get run down by any big rolling boulders. Hoping to get your script revisions done on the beach, when I'm not bushwhacking the jungle. Back on the 20th.

Cool, hook it up. If you can make your own movie, even if it is just for practice, you will get a lot out of it.

I like your ideas. I also like the one about a teenage assassin, seems like it would be a good script, especially if it had a similar adult tone, that was imposed on a teen film, like the movie Brick, but without the film noir.

So, what is the next step for you as an actor? What projects are you working on?

I gotcha. I hope you have seen The Never Ending Story. They never do 80's movies like that anymore, but if they did, I think a lot of our pre-teen groups today would appreciate that type of movie. Everything out right now is very techno nerd oriented and it would be fun to have a more feminine, science fiction rift in our movie ideas out right now.

Ok, try this, think about a character that would be in a more williow/never ending story/princess bride/ wizard of oz, type of character. Tell me what you would do with a character like that, what archetype would you be,(The Queen, the mother, the pioneer, the slave, the prostitute, the storyteller, the artist, the alchemist, the damsel, etc...)? Make up your own type and what type of problem would your character embrace?

Along with that, let me know where the character lives and how their town thrives, that they live in.

Right now I'm doing work on some feature films and shorts. One of the films stopped shooting, but I just got another feature today! The other one is a medieval fantasy. Check out my IMDB if you get a chance, I have a few of the projects on there. Other than that, I would say to think about what types of films you would really like to see yourself in. Dream big and let me know, it will help you get an idea of who you see yourself as, in films. Don't worry about getting locked into a role or anything, just think of it as a good practice to acknowledge your strengths.

Can't wait to hear, take care.

Thank you for checking in Eloise. So, what types of projects would you like to work on. What sorts of movies would you really want to see come out of Colorado?

The chapters in the book are:
* Poem: "All in the golden afternoon"
* Chapter 1: Down the Rabbit-Hole
* Chapter 2: The Pool of Tears
* Chapter 3: A Caucus-Race and a long Tale
* Chapter 4: The Rabbit sends in a little Bill
* Chapter 5: Advice from a Caterpillar
* Chapter 6: Pig and Pepper
* Chapter 7: A Mad Tea-Party
* Chapter 8: The Queen's Croquet-Ground
* Chapter 9: The Mock Turtle's Story
* Chapter 10: The Lobster Quadrille
* Chapter 11: Who stole the Tarts?
* Chapter 12: Alice's Evidence

I envision an opening shot of tranquil wilderness. panning ever so slowly leftward while the opening poem is read. The camera settles on you and Angelina as the poem ends. You are sitting on the bank. Angelina is reading a book. You are bored. You look at the book over her shoulder. You suggest that the book is not interesting and attempt to start a conversation. She shrugs you off. You look around at the scenery. You try to distract Angelina again, from her book. You are playing with a handful of daisies when something catches your eye. "Did you see that?"

(I'd like to draw out the scene, building the curiosity and suspense. Catching small movements in the bushes, and very brief glimpses of the white rabbit.) Let your curiosity build as you play a gentle hide and seek with the rabbit. The camera cuts between ever closer shot of your face and snippets of the rabbit until you are face to face, from the camera's point of view. Cutting from a closeup of the rabbits' face to yours. Then, he hops back under cover. Where the rabbit sat, is a magical gold timepiece, the pocket watch. You reach out and grasp it in your hand. You examine the precious piece. Surely, the rabbit must have dropped it in it's haste. Your curiosity is peeked. You pursue the rabbit. Timepiece in hand.

You pause, having lost sight for a moment, then... there! You see a flash of the rabbit descending down the rabbit hole. You approach the hole and carefully look inside. Momentarily at a loss, you pause and stand to further examine your location and surroundings. Cutting between the "what do I do now?" look on your face and the scans of the terrain, the ground below you slowly gives way and you are sucked down the rabbit hole. (fade to black)

I'll continue the story in a bit. Do you see how I'm reworking the piece? Perhaps, Angelina could read the poem and/or be the voice of the rabbit.

Hope you had a wonderful Halloween weekend. I am hoping to use actual "wildlife" in this adaptation. You might imagine having a conversation with a real caterpillar, and such. I have a great idea of how you might transcend the "rabbit hole". I am exploring locations at the Denver Zoo, the Botanic Gardens, the University of Denver, the University of Colorado, and others. Since I envision a contemporary work, costuming would be as such. Royalty would appear as they do in real life. (comfortable formal attire) Your clothing should reflect that which is appropriate for a spring outing, and some light wilderness adventure. Perhaps a sun dress? Think about it. You will need to feel comfortable wearing this "costume" throughout. I think Angelina is a good choice as a supporting actress. I'm counting on the two of you to "drive the action" with curiosity and playfulness. I will stage and orchestrate the scenes so as to capture the beauty of the adventure. I'm working on a screenplay that is a fairly literal adaptation of the book. I would like Angelina to play other roles in the scenes that the Lori is not scripted. I would like, with you in the lead, to explore with Angelina, some particulars that you would like to explore and engage with in your adventure. (play act the book together) I believe this is an ideal opportunity to showcase your talents. Do you sing?

We'll talk more in a few days, I'm a bit swamped with work this weekend. I think we have the makings of truly wonderful film project.

I have been reviewing many wonderful adaptations of this work. My leanings are towards a present day, "reality" piece. I'm thinking of shooting mostly outdoor locations, so that actual shooting will be this coming spring. Having a few months lead time will provide the opportunity to "practice" the performance and staging so that we can produce a wonderful film. I would like to work with you, chapter by chapter, to develop an "Alice" that is a natural extension of Eloise. Your "vision" of the scenes is welcome. I'm excited about finding an animal wrangler with a white rabbit.

Setting the Scene: Alice's Adventures in Wonderland was written after the Reverend Charles Lutwidge Dodgson and the Reverend Robinson Duckworth rowed in a boat up the River Thames with three little girls:

* Lorina Charlotte Liddell (aged 13, born 1849) ("Prima" in the book's prefatory verse)
* Alice Pleasance Liddell (aged 9, born 1852) ("Secunda" in the prefatory verse)
* Edith Mary Liddell (aged 8, born 1853) ("Tertia" in the prefatory verse)

The three girls were the daughters of Henry George Liddell, the Vice-Chancellor of Oxford University and Dean of Christ Church as well as headmaster of Westminster School. Most of the book's adventures were based on and influenced by people, situations and buildings in Oxford and at Christ Church, e.g., the "Rabbit Hole" which symbolized the actual stairs in the back of the main hall in Christ Church.

The journey had started at Folly Bridge near Oxford and ended five miles away in the village of Godstow. To while away time the Reverend Dodgson told the girls a story that, not so coincidentally, featured a bored little girl named Alice who goes looking for an adventure. (wikipedia)

* I would like you to find two(2) supporting actors to play Alices' older and younger sisters. I ask you to do this as, these two "sisters" should be close friends that you enjoy "acting" with. Based on their degree of "talent" they will be playing various roles throughout. It is important that these two "sisters" are people that you would totally enjoy sharing your adventure with.

Cool! There is a wealth of resources to draw from. I think we can produce something really special. I'm thinking a trilogy of 3 shorts: Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, its sequel Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There. We can shoot "Wonderland" as a pilot to raise funds for "Looking Glass" and "What Alice Found". So, there won't be any paychecks for "Wonderland" but, if you are acting as the principle character, you will be co-owner of the work. Are you with me?

Take II - If I was to produce an adaptation of Alice in Wonderland, would you want to be in it?

Cool! There you go. We've got a film project. Now, how do you see yourself in Alice? Not pretending to be someone else, but being your story, can you make Wonderland your experience?

Eloise, Doing a music video shoot at the Fox Theater with the Motet on Thursday evening, have a commercial spot coming up in two weeks. I shoot and produce artistic and documentary work, specializing in remote location services. I'll be working in Columbia, South America this February. What kinds of films/videos interest you? That's a good place to start. You should dream up where you'd like to be, or what you'd like to do, then the pieces will fall in place. -Thomas

Thanks Eloise. I will keep you in mind. Right now I am looking for a ~30 yr old woman, a very old woman, and a ~7 yr old boy. You don't quite fit into these...ha, but if you happen to know anyone who might be interested, I would appreciate it if you could connect me to those people. I also responded to your screenwriting inquiry on that discussion board. Screenwriting is my expertise, so feel free to approach me with any questions. Good Luck
