Has ANYONE received an e-mail notice about the media limits?

Admins are saying that there were e-mail notices sent to CASA members about the media limits more than six months ago. I have never received any such notices and would like to know if anyone else has.

One more technical note.  Mass mailings from an admin may not go to your Ning inbox.  I believe that they only go to the e-mail that is connected to your account.  I could be mistaken since it has only been done a handful of times over the years, but I don recall any of those messages being sent to my Ning inbox.  I realize Darlene that you are also not receiving them in your e-mail.  I just wanted to clarify for anyone reading this where these messages go.

Those check marks determine whether a messages is forward to their external e-mail, not whether it appears in the inbox here on Ning. They should receive a copy of the message in their inbox on Ning even if all boxes were unchecked. Someone might want to only receive messages here. That is not the case in my situation. I received copies of Karen's messages via e-mail and in my Ning inbox but I still have received no copies of the notices.

I am not sure where the "alerts" are that you speak of. There is nothing in the "alerts" on my own page. The homepage is so busy that something might be there and be easily missed. Also many people might go directly to their own page from a e-mail link of a message their did receive and never visit the homepage.

The alerts I am referring to are on the center column of the main page.

As to where the messages should appear, we are all bound by the constraints of the Ning format. When an admin sends out a message like that it goes to the members e-mail, not their Ning inbox. Whether we would choose otherwise or not, that is how the site works

Thanks Jim, Haylar, Karen and the rest of the proactive Admins for your unwavering support to this community. I hope everyone remembers that your valuable time is being offered free of charge and without any perk besides the "goodwill" you bring to others. A special thanks goes out to Jim who has graciously and unwittingly assumed the responsibilities of general site management. It's not easy to work with this cookie-cutter, generic social website, but it's the most we can afford.

I agree Darlene. I would love to get a sense from our membership to determine if they are getting important messages.  Sadly I doubt that will happen.  As I am sure you know, the overwhelming majority of our membership sets up a page and rarely checks in unless there is something specific they need. That is why we sent out the messages.  While they obviously did not reach everyone, I am certain that they reached more members than if we just posted something on the site.
