Joplin tornado footage

Hi, some filmmakers in LA are doing a documentary on the tornado that struck Joplin, Missouri last year.  They're in the final editing stages and just need a little more footage.  In particular, they're looking for amateur footage (camera phone/home movie type stuff) during or right after the tornado.  I know some people in Colorado were involved in rescue and cleanup operations, so I thought some of you might know someone who might have some video.(Yes, they've already searched all the usual…See More

Miller tripods?

Do any of you know anyone (other than me) who uses a Miller tripod? If you're not aware, Miller is a small company from Australia that makes really good high end support gear and pretty decent lower level gear.  I have one of their entry-level tripods and would love to talk to someone else around here who does.Thanks,Todd.See More

I do sound work on other people's films, and am also an amateur filmmaker on my own. My video production company is Exploding Corpse Productions.

I'm here to meet other local filmmakers, crew, and actors.

Exploding Corpse Productions

My video production company is called Exploding Corpse Productions, despite the fact that we've never done anything that featured an exploding corpse. The website (which needs to be updated) is here:

looking for grips and other crew for "Kung Fu Sushi Chefs"

After the longest pre-production phase of any short film ever, we're now in production with my next film, "Kung Fu Sushi Chefs". But we need 2 to 3 more people on the crew. We're shooting Sundays and occasionally Saturday mornings and Friday evenings, from now through the end of the year.

I'd like to get at least 1 more person able to do production sound and 2 more people who can be light and dolly grips. If you've never made a martial arts movie, here's your chance! If you don't… Continue

Boulder Digital Arts Teen Program for Digital Media

I just got an announcement that Boulder Digital Arts has put together a 10-week program in digital media, with what looks like a great line-up of classes. I know we have a lot of teenage members in CASA, so I thought I should pass this along.

I have taken several classes from BDA in the past and have been very satisfied with them. Here is the link:…

"Birthday Girl" world premiere and fundraiser for "Kung Fu Sushi Chefs"

For the past year, I’ve been working on a film called “Kung Fu Sushi Chefs.” It’s the biggest film project I’ve ever been involved with, and has a cast and crew of about 50. We did a “test shoot” to try some things out and learn from our mistakes. Now, that test shoot is a short film of its own called "Birthday Girl" and it’s going to premiere on Saturday January 30 in Denver at Bug Theatre. Doors open at 7:00pm. If you’re around, you should come… Continue

warehouse space

I need a big chunk of warehouse space in which to built sets for my current film. Does anyone know of anyone who either owns a warehouse or is involved in local commercial real estate? Ideally, we'd find someone who has space they're not currently renting who could be convinced to donate it for a few months to our film project, as a tax-deductible donation. Any ideas?

Todd,

I just want you to know that I love your Kung Fu Sushi Chefs script. Paul sent it to me because he wanted me to audition for the part of Logan. I so wish I could! But I am going to be traveling so much this summer, and so busy with various writing projects myself that it's just one of those things I'm going to have to let go. But it bums me out, cause it would be so much fun. Good luck with it, and I hope it turns out spectacular!
