How do you handle the "whys" or the "what fors"?

I don't know if those are common terms, but I use them to describe the setting of my story.  The basic premise of a story has to address the "whys" and "whatfors" to create the setting or it all…Continue

How are you involved in Colorado's Film Industry? (Actor, Writer, Filmmaker, Crew, etc)
attorney, actor, writer, dude
Tell us about yourself and/or how CASA can help?
I am an attorney who is learning to be an actor, who is rewriting stories that he originally wrote over 20 years ago, and who is helping people with the business part of the entertainment business.

I came to CASA to read the words of people in the industry. To hear of the successes and failures. To uncover the trouble spots and discover the strengths of the Colorado entertainment industry and Colorado's role in the larger entertainment industry.

I came to CASA to read tips people have for new actors. I can't call myself an actor yet, but someday I can wear that title. How do you defeat your anxiety? I have a terrible fear when performing that I will be "thought the fool" and my tendency is to keep my mouth closed to let the doubt remain. I need to get over this before I can become an actor.

I hope to find like minds with regard to the telling of stories. I have had opportunities to speak in complete candor about writing stories with those I would consider accomplished and successful. Those conversations made me miss the days of writing my stories on the balcony of an old city house converted into apartments. The days of reading the new "scene" to my equally intoxicated audience. Oh, they were never intoxicated by my stories but this was college after all. I want to begin again with the ideas that I had and the ones that have started to come again.

Tell me what I can do for you?

Hi Michael, Welcome to CASA! I have to tell you, my favorite part of your profile is "...attorney, actor, writer, dude" That is so engaging and insightful into who you really are.

You might consider auditing some local workshops. I'm pretty new to the business myself, and I'm really glad that I took the leap into acting by starting with classes and workshops. I know that coaches Dalton and Schnackel host a great workshop, and you can also dip your toes into the water at the DCPA in their adult education classes. There are more choices out there, and you can just find what works for you personally. I am currently studying with Benjy Dobrin, and first and foremost you feel safe and secure in his classes, no matter what your skill level.

Again, WELCOME! Hope to meet you sometime. Hit me up if you want to talk further.
