Are you a former member of CASA on MSN Groups? If not, are you a resident of Colorado?
former member, no resident of Co, yes
How are you involved in Colorado's Film Industry? (Actor, Writer, Filmmaker, Crew, etc)
filmmaker, director, writer, actor
Tell us about yourself and/or how CASA can help?
I am a filmmaker, writer, director, and actor. I recently launched a film production company here in Denver, Papercat Films, with Patrick Mann (who is also on this site).
I co-wrote, produced and directed an indie horror film called "The Monument", which took first place at the Hauntcon Film Festival in the feature category in 2006. I also wrote and produced "Who's Land is it Anyway?", a documentary short on urban sprawl on the front range.
Before moving to Denver, I worked as a Creative Director, performer, and writer at The Second City in Chicago. As an actor I've done commercials and voicovers in Chicago, as well as stage, film, and commercial work here in Denver.
I would love to use CASA as a tool to connect with other film artists, and as a social outlet for my art.

Hello Kristine,

Welcome to CASA! You sound like someone I'd like to work with. My name is Ken and I'm a Director of Photography. I have quite a bit of experience with over 2000 television productions and countless indie productions (features, shorts, etc.) to my credit. I am in charge of the studio at KBDI Channel 12 and I also work for Denver Channel 8. I light, direct, technical direct and operate cameras every day. A show that I directed, lit and shot a segment for, won a regional Emmy award recently.

I own lots of equipment including a 15K plus lighting package, tracking dolly, jib, cameras, etc. If you are interested in a superior digital acquisition format, I own a RED One Digital Cinema Camera with lots of accessories. It includes a Cooke 20-100mm T3.1 zoom lens. I have a regular crew that I work with if needed.

If any of this interests you please contact me. I'm always looking for new challenges and opportunities and I would be very interested in talking with you.

Regards,

Ken Hendricks

Hi Kristine,

You can check out my last project at www.leftmovie.com ... (lead) character.

Unfortunately, there's a gotcha: I'm off to LA either Weds this week for a possible Thurs/Fri mtg ... (which would be no problemo since I will be back by the weekend ... OR ... they will want to re-schedule me for a next week mtg (uh oh ... with your schedule)... those day-timer weilding batards!

I'll keep you posted (as I am definitely interested) ... but if you already have others lined up ... it's all moot anyway darling, and we'll just have to meet for drinks at the Oscars! ;-)

That said ... If you are interested in mo-meme ... drop me a line/let's stay in touch ... and meanwhile, I'll keep you posted as to the meeting juggle.

Best,
Henry

Hi Kristine,

We met last Thursday at the Emerging Filmmaker's Project, my film "Alone" screened alongside two of your films. I just wanted to drop you a quick comment, I was so flustered after my Q&A (I am terrified of public speaking!) that I didn't get a chance to tell you how much I enjoyed your films. I thought they were both well written, and I particularly loved "Things We'd Like To See" - it's not easy to tell a story in just a few minutes, but the dialogue was great and the pacing was fantastic, everything just worked. I hope to see you (and some of your other films) again at future events.

:)

Hi Kris,

It sounded like something must have been wrong with the DVD player or projection that night. Let me know if you're screening "Stage Fright" again, I'd like to see it in it's complete form!

Thank you for the kind words about "Alone." My DP was my producing partner, Damon Martens. He went to the Art Institute, I think he graduated around 2002. I'm not a student anymore either, I actually went to CSU through the television journalism department, graduated in 2004 (which feels so long ago!)

I know I'll for sure be back at EFP in November with another one of my shorts, "Schism", but I'm planning on attending more regularly after that (I had such a a great time!), I hope to see you again sometime!

:)

Hello Kristine,
Thanks so much for adding me as a friend! I hope to meet and perhaps work with you one day! My short film QUILLIONS will screen this month at the Denver Int'l Film Festival, maybe I'll see you there. It's great to have so many talented women working in film in Denver

Well, for Asgard Entertainment, I do music composing. Other than that I do my own commercial productions, but I would like to get into making my own films too, at some point.

Hi Kristine,
We have been holding multiple auditions. And we do have another one this coming Friday from about 10am to 2pm at our home in Broomfield. If you would like to audition please let me know by sending me an email outside of CASA (mine is kim@avenstar.net).
We have 2 leading roles for a man & a woman (plus some other smaller roles). Ages can be fairly wide open for these... we are mostly concerned with great acting - actors that are comfortable with improvisation.
Look forward to hearing from you,
Kim
