"As a director, to work better with actors I've taken acting lessons. So maybe the opposite is true!
I recommend the book 'Friendly Enemies: Maximizing the Director-Actor" relationship
Yes I did get taft-hartlied into AFTRA for a co-star spot I did on a TV show called Childrens' Hospital. I was originally signed on to be a break dancer, so a featured extra and they Taft-hartlied me because of that and then I…"
I just saw this and thought i would pipe in and give my two cents about this.
Here's some background on me and why I think I'm qualified to give you some advice. But again, what works for me might not work for you. I was an…"
"Thank you so much for posting this! Casting director workshops are essential for getting work; especially when you move out here to LA or New York. I take them whenever I can. How else can you really get in front of casting directors and show what…"
I think it doesn't hurt to pursue the bigger agencies but also try the smaller agencies as well. Realistically you probably have a better chance of signing with a smaller agency especially if you have little or no experience. You…"
Actors can get representation from any place they want. I live and work in LA but my agent is in Vegas. I know people who have LA agents, New York Agents, Canadian agents and London agents. Just read the contract before you sign it and…"
Are you a former member of CASA on MSN Groups? If not, are you a resident of Colorado?
How are you involved in Colorado's Film Industry? (Actor, Writer, Filmmaker, Crew, etc)
Actor, Writer, Dancer, Voice Over Talent, Vocalist, Director
Tell us about yourself and/or how CASA can help?
I'm a former member of CASA who wants to be able to stay involved with my Denver roots even though I'm in California now. I enjoyed the discussions we had and contributing to them. I also hope that maybe I can use CASA to help actors who may want to move to California to tell them which classes, photographers, etc to seek out.
Joe! Woohoo, I was worried that we lost you with the move to our new site. At last we have a site that let's us actually see CASA talent in action. It's really amazing. If you have some reels and voice-over samples, I'd love to see them on your "My Page."
Let me know if you have any questions, comments or suggestions about this site (just click my icon to get to my profile page. There's a send message link right below my photo.
Thanks for sticking with us. The community wouldn't be the same without you.

I doubt I'll move back to L.A. - I had my time and fun with it as a musician in the 90s. :) I sure as hell can't afford it now, lol.
But, you never know, if we end up booking together I'm always able to book plane tix for out of town gigs!
Good to hear you're doing well, keep up the good work man!
