Hello guys, I shot short film not long ago that has had some major probs. We shot it on a High Def JVC mini dv cam. I am looking for someone out there in the casa world who has a mini dvd jvc camera. If so I would like to hire that person to transfer some mini dv tapes to a hard drive, will pay by the hour.

Please contact Jimmy Drain at Ghostbladeproductions@gmail.com/720-292-6224 for the details. Thanks.

Jimmy,

Make sure that you are looking for the right kind of camera/deck for the transfer. JVC makes 2 different types of cameras that use Mini-DV tapes. One is a standard definition camera, and one shoots in an HDV format. They can use the EXACT SAME TYPE OF TAPES! If the tapes were shot in an HDV format and you use a regular mini-dv camera, the transfer won't work.

Was the footage shot in SD, or HDV (a version of high-def)?
Thanks Jim, Here is the issue, we used two cameras on the shoot, one was shot on the 420 option, the other 720p. A mistake no doubt, So I do believe they were shot hdv....or at least one of them.

I will keep plugging away, but please let me know if you have any tips....thanks so much for your time:)
