Intro and call for talent!

Hey all,

I'm a new CASA member, currently developing a feature film that I hope to shoot here in Colorado in the very near future. The film is unique in many ways, but especially in it's approach to sound and music. It calls for a very experimental blending of sound and music, of diegetic and non-diegetic, and would require that a composer be involved not only in sound design, but in pre-production and possibly production as well. The best example I can think of to illustrate what I have in mind for the sound and music would be the work Toru Takemitsu created for the film Kwaidan, in which Takemitsu was responsible for creating the films entire sound scape.

To help get this project off the ground, with the help of CASA members Ken Hendricks and Jim Brennan I put together a 50 second silent teaser. Now it needs sound and music and I want to use this as an opportunity to find the right composer to collaborate on the feature.

I visited your myspace page but I wasn't able to get any of the music (maybe I don't have the right plug in installed). From your page it looks like you work with the guitar... do you work with other instruments or sounds?

I am also new to CASA and think your project sounds fascinating. I have done some work with modern dance and multi media theater and think I might be a good fit. I am not familiar with Takemitsu's work, and my style may be completely different (mellow, acoustic). I have posted several tracks on my page, including a film score demo track.
