Hey everyone! Members of ASGARD EDGE are invited to the free monthly workshops hosted by Asgard Entertainment that will provide solid answers to the hard questions that constantly plague Producers, Directors, Writers and Performers. A true “How to” approach that helps filmmakers take their projects to a much more professional level with greater possibilities for notoriety and financial success. Keep in mind this group is for people driven to see their work taken to a higher level and not for weekend filmmakers who simply enjoy making short films as a hobby.

Driven? I'm more obsessive about my work than driven. I've been obsessed with getting my sci-fi project off the ground for the past 24 years.

Obsessed can be good...but 24 years? That sounds like it coud lead to an ulcer. But in all seriousness, look at the project realistically and ensure that you are making it for the right reasons. Is it right for today's market or is it just a personal quest you want to pursue regardless of the outcome.

I honestly don't know about the market; right now I just would like to get the pilot film going, and see if it works in the market. I began with stories, but the novels I submitted were somewhat lacking in depth of field and character development; I figured that by going with a series, I had plenty of room to make that change.

I am willing to take an assignment, if you have one for me. I would love to write outside that scifi box I seem to be snaring myself in and do something that would give me a chance to get my name out there.

Christopher - I understand pursuing your dream and i did not want to sound like I was trying to discourage you. If you have been driven that long you probably feel really connected to your concept. Unfortunately I never go to anyone for our writing. I do it all in-house and our company never pays for scripts. It's just not part of our business model right now. That may change in the future, but not the near future.

I received your email and comments about doing a series. Are you talking about a television series? If so, that is something that has to have everything in place before you start. Film is a much easier beast to tame than television because you have more control. Television does not have quite the Indie opportunities as film does because TV is dominated by major networks and cable networks that do not allow indie producers to have free reign with programming. Anyway, thats a topic that would require too much explanation...but no matter what you are undertaking, I wish you luck.
