Colorado Actors Scripts And Films

Free Support and Outreach for Colorado's Filmmaking Community

I got my ball rolling and things were going fantastic. I was booking jobs left and right, I even flew to Detroit to film. Then after a series of unfortunate events including a very unprofessional director and slander, among other things, I not only stopped my ball I completely popped it. Now after a year I've decided to try and pick up the pieces and start again, but I seem to be having very poor luck when it comes to finding work. My passion has over come me and I can no longer sit idely by as time zooms past. I have experience in front of the camera as well as a little behind and I'm looking for either. I'm ready to start working again. Any advice or leads would be so greatly appreciated. PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Hi Ashley! First, let me hug you! I haven't heard anything slanderous about you at all and hopefully folks who do hear something are going to go straight to the source to find out if it's true or not.

I don't think I'm alone when I say that finding work here is harder than usual, so there is that. Where are you looking for work? Do you have an agent? Are you in Denver or thereabouts? Are you taking any classes?

Thanks! I'm currently in the Springs but I have no problem traveling I'm trying to find work anywhere doing anything. I realize that sounds silly but at this point no job is too big or too small for me to consider. I do not have an agent at this time due to past experience with various agencies, I'm just finding it incredibly hard to find someone to trust. All of my learning experiences both in front of as well as behind the camera have been on set.

I live in the Springs! There is a Craigslist ad for a Murder Mystery Theatre if you want to go to that. That's on Sunday. :-) I'm with Eden Talent in Denver and Christine Grant is very nice. Maybe try with her?

I take classes with Patrick Sheridan with the Film Academy of Denver. I'd love to carpool with you if interested! I go on Wednesday mornings. It's worth a shot to ask. He's a great guy and you could make some connections. There is the Emerging Filmmakers Project the third Thursday of every month at 8 PM and that's a great way to make connections as well. :-)

Actually, since we are both in the Springs, would you like to have coffee or something? Make a friend? :-) Promise, I won't slander you!

Coffee would be great! My email is AshleyNicholeHammond@hotmail
