Film Synopsis:
Maybe you've seen the movies "What The Bleep" or "The Secret"? Well... this movie is not that - but there are similarities... like interviews and true stories and an amazing cast that includes Amit Goswami (What The Bleep), Joe Vitale (The Secret), Bruce Lipton (Biology of Belief)... and many more. But this film is much more than just interviews and new-age concepts. The undercurrent of this film involves a story. Meet Harry. He is smart, funny, a bit of a cynic... and can't seem to get his life moving in the right direction. Harry's lost his wife, his job, his home - and perhaps even more important, his belief that things could ever get better. Harry (think Paul Giamatti), can be funny, awkward, and even endearing. Can he "wake up" and start building an authentic life? Can Harry find the key to finally being happy? Openings is a wonderful mix of reality (amazing interview footage) and its parallel story (Harry) - all working together to provide a fulfilling and motivating feature film.
Character BIOS:
[BUM] [GENDER: MALE] [AGE: 40-60]- SCREEN CREDIT - NON-PAYGood-natured homeless guy - who just might be more than he appears.
[HARRY'S FATHER] [GENDER: MALE] [AGE: 60-80]- SCREEN CREDIT - NON-PAY
Intense older gentleman of means - he's trying to get through to Harry
before he checks out.
[SICK CHILD] [GENDER: MALE OR FEMALE] [AGE: 6 TO 10]- SCREEN CREDIT -NON-PAY
Vivacious and full of life. A visitor to the ranch, this child will capture the heart of
Harry and the audience. Boy or girls, this child should know how to just act as themselves and feel comfortable in front of the camera.

Please keep in mind that these are non-sag roles. We are not set up to work with SAG contracts or agents that work with SAG actors. Some actors that are SAG choose to work with us knowing the situation (working independently) or they are on honorary leave from SAG. This is fine as long as our position is understood upfront.
If you are still interested please do me a favor and re-send your resume and pic and which role you would like to audition for to my personal email: kim@avenstar.net
Look forward to hearing from you,
Kim

Thank you for thinking of me... I'm living in SoCal right now and will be directing a reality tv series all of Oct and half of Nov and then again in Feb and Mar 2012. If this doesn't bother you or your schedule... I am interested in the part of Harry...
I'd work for the SAG ultra-low budget minimum of $100 a day + travel expenses. If that works for you... Before I audition I would like to read the entire screenplay... if that's ok. Or at least enough for me to get a good idea who Harry is. You can view my acting reel here...

Unfortunately we do not have what you require in our budget, which is why are looking for non-sag or sag (on honorary leave) actors. I enjoyed your reel, though. I wish you much success in Southern California - a good place to be for an actor!
