Colorado Actors Scripts And Films
Free Support and Outreach for Colorado's Filmmaking Community
A husband and wife confront a situation that has the potential to destroy their marriage...with a twist.
That's the gist of 'Broken', a phenominally brief and easy-to-make short that can be artfully done in 6-8 hours on a Saturday afternoon.
I have the script, tweaked, tightened and ready for production. I have the shots in my head and I've translated most of them to storyboards. I have primary and secondary locations lined up...
...I just need everything else. I'm looking for a DP or camera operator who has his/her own equipment and knows how to use it, an actor, an actress, and an editor.
It's not a huge time commitment. I'd like to meet with the DP on location for a few hours to roughly block out the action and troubleshoot any lighting or sound issues there might be, and I'd want to run two rehearsals with the talent (once at the time of casting and once close to the shooting date). After that, it's one day for the shoot and probably less than eight hours of editing.
My primary focus will be getting the DP and editor squared away, along with viable shooting dates. Once those elements are locked in, I'll start actively looking for talent. That said, if you're interested in any aspect of the project, or even curious, have your people call (email) my people.
Thanks for your time!

Good Afternoon Ken,
Thank you for your interest; I've attached a copy for your perusal. The downside is that it appeals to a certain niche, but fortunately that niche is rather large; you'll see what I mean by the end. Feedback is always welcome, and if its something you'd be interested in, I'd love to discuss it with you. There are two other gentlemen who have expressed interest, so right now I'm just seeing who would actually like to work on it and then figure out the best fit.
Again, I appreciate your interest. Enjoy!

I finally got around to reading the script. I thought it was pretty dialog heavy but I really did like the ending. It could easily be shot in not much time at all. I'd be interested in talking further with you about making it happen.
