Hey guys,

It is great to be back on the CASA boards. I'm actually back in Denver for two weeks on a little vacation.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know about a great book that just got released. It's called Acting Class Take a Seat by Milton Kateles. He is the owner of The Beverly Hills Playhouse and has taught some pretty impressive talents: Doris Roberts, Patrick Swayze, Anne Archer and has directed some big names: Shelley Winters, Goldie Hawn. Just to name a few.

Anyway, this is the book that the students at The Beverly Hills Playhouse get and it used to be only available for them. There's some great stuff in there and it is written in a real conversation tone. Besides talking about acting, Miltion also talks about the administration side of the business-which is missed in a lot of classes-and about how sometimes it's your attitude not talent that gets you work.

I can't recommend this book enough.

Peace
JOE

Thank you Chris. Even as a published, professional writer I still make typos. :)
Hey Joe,
Thanks for the recommendation. I will look into that since I am always looking to build my library no matter what stage of the game I am at.
Macleish
Cool Macleish. It's a great read and offers great advice for actors of all levels.

Great book learn a lot about on camera acting

As a director, to work better with actors I've taken acting lessons. So maybe the opposite is true!

I recommend the book 'Friendly Enemies: Maximizing the Director-Actor" relationship
